If only these things were not so tempting.
When he and Elizabeth discover a portal into the spirit world, they cannot resist. Together with Victor’s twin, Konrad, and their friend Henry, the four venture into a place of infinite possibilities where power and passion reign. But as they search for the knowledge to raise the dead, they unknowingly unlock a darkness from which they may never return.
Such Wicked Intent is the 2nd book in the Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein series by Kenneth Oppel. This book is a lot darker than the first, which makes sense given that in the previous book, they had a pretty traumatic adventure, not to mention the death of Victor's twin brother Konrad. The dark library has been burned to ashes yet one book remains in the rubble unharmed. Victor can't help but be drawn to the book and the secrets that lay within. Victor finds instructions on how to enter the spirit world and embarks on a plan to bring Konrad back to the living world. But should they? I really enjoyed this book, I think it stands alone pretty well and if you hadn't read the first book This Dark Endeavor wouldn't take you long to catch up. I really enjoyed it Victor is such a dark character, he truly feels at times that he might be a little mad. You see Elizabeth grow as a character and see her darker side. Henry I love this guy he is growing a back bone and not taking any crap. They are reckless and uneducated in the occult messing with things that are better left alone. I was captivated the whole time, I remained curious, there was a lot of action a little love triangle still going strong even in the spirit world, tons of suspense and danger. I think a lot of people will really enjoy this book. I really hope there will be more books to come in this series.
