Seventeen year-old Arden Elliot is alone, barely surviving life on the streets. All she wants is a place to call home, somewhere she can be safe. After meeting Det. Cass Bateman, surviving is exactly what she will need to do. He dominates her world, steals her spirit and breaks her body. All in the name of love. She knows if she stays, one day he will love her to death. On the run she meets Gideon, a Kentucky cowboy. She tries to resist the power of her heart, knowing she doesn’t have the luxury of falling in love, but just when she thinks her life is finally secure, her past comes calling. Now she will have to decide whether to confess everything to her new family or leave them safely behind to run again.
Q: Can you tell us about your book, Love You to Death, in 15 words or less?
A: This is always so hard! A young girl loses everything and fights to find a place to belong.
Q:What was your favorite scene to write?
A:The doctor’s office with Shorty and Magoo. It’s got snarky humor in the middle of all the serious and it’s where the story pivots.
Q:What was the hardest scene to edit out?
A: Actually, there wasn’t anything edited out. This was my second novel and it just flowed. Unlike the first one that I’m still tweaking or the third one that just stalled on me!
Q:Is this a standalone or part of a series?
A:Stand alone.
Q: What genre is Love You to Death?
A: New Adult
Q: Do you have a favorite quote from the book?
A: There are a few but my favorite is when Maw –Maw says, “Well who shot her porch light out?” .
Q: Are you currently working on anything else?
A:I’m working on an adult mystery.
Q:What is currently in your TBR pile?
A: I don’t keep a list because I’m always wanting/looking to read something new. But I did just add Jodi Picoult’s new book The Color War to my kindle.

Behind the Scenes of Love You to Death
I wrote LYTD back in 2009 and it only took me nine months to write. It’s the fastest and easiest story I’ve ever written so I’m still a little surprised (but totally excited) that it’s getting published first.
Fancast for Love You to Death
Arden: Jennifer Lawrence. Even thought I wrote LYTD before The Hunger Games movie. As soon as I saw her as Katniss I knew she was my Arden.
Cass: Alex Pettyfer. Even though Bradley Cooper was my first choice but he’s getting up there, ya know. I know, it seems like a coincidence because he played in a few movies with Jennifer but really, I thought of Bradley as Cass. Especially when I saw a picture of him online looking more than a little unhappy. He was perfect.
Gideon: Sam Palladio is the closest I can find but he isn’t my exact Gideon. I’m still looking!
Stewie: A young Will Sasso. He’s so cute.
Maw-Maw: Think of Shirley Maclaine in Steel Magnolias.
Maggie: Blake Lively. Maggie is a pill at first and she had so much attitude but she becomes very likable.
Cort: a young Leonardo DiCaprio, remember the semi-gangly kid on the verge of morphing into his hot beefy manliness? That’s Cort, the in between Leo.
