Carol Walsh, overprotective and pessimistic by nature, returns home late at night to find her daughter isn't there. When she is unable to contact her, Carol succumbs to her own fatalistic thoughts. A short story giving two different points of view of the events of a single night.
Txt by M.T. Mathieson is a short story 17 pages spanning a few hours. Carol Walsh is returning home from an evening out, as she is getting off the bus her feeling of unease begins and she begins text messaging her daughter Sophie who is at a friend’s house. Over the course of those few hours the tensions build to an almost unbearable level.
As a person who has been known to let my imagination run wild occasionally I totally got this woman, when your nervous you start jumping at every little sound and even when you reach the safety of your house you still can’t help but act a little silly. I loved this read my only problem with it, is its not long enough I was on the edge of my seat loving it and all of a sudden it was over and I was left with my jaw hanging open wanting to yell ” NOOOOOOOOO” I really hope there is more to this story and I get to read it.
I give this a 5 out of 5 stars rating.
