When a handsome con artist accidentally falls in love with the girl he is trying to con, he decides to do everything in his power to protect her from his notorious boss, Kathryn Miller, who wants to see her dead. But will his power alone be enough against Manhattan's most dangerous female? Will his strengths have to include murder? These are things Vincent Reid must now decide.
At it's root, the story is about one man's fight for freedom against an older woman who has not only controlled his body, but also his mind for the last eleven years.
I always love it when authors seek me out personally to review their books; Its both an honor and a pleasure to have someone trust me with something so deeply personal, that I know that they have sunk their blood sweat and tears into and want my opinion on their work.
This book took me a little bit longer to read than usual as I just haven't had the time I usually have to just pour myself into a book, every spare moment of my time has been devoted to spending time with my family when I am not working so I have been using my lunch breaks at work to catch up on my reviews.
Vincent has know Kathryn Miller since she picked him up off the street eleven years ago, when he came to New York in search for his missing sister. Since then Vincent has belonged to Kathryn in every way imaginable body, mind and soul, her hold on him complete she has made him not only a wealthy man and an intricate part of her business but he has also become her whore to some of the most important woman in Manhattan. Wanting to break free of her hold on him his newest invention maybe the only way to break free from her, but the price he has to pay for his freedom will come at a cost that Vincent in not capable of accepting. Alex Fielding did a great job IMO portraying the angst and desperation that Vincent feels when, he realizes that he is in love with Chantelle and that he can't use her for Kathryn's plans. From the moment he realizes this every thought, action he takes is to spare the girl he loves from the hail storm of fury that Kathryn is about to unleash on them. Nobody that Vincent loves is safe from the fury and vengeance that is Kathryn Miller.
This book had a lot of action throughout it, and the characters remained quite interesting throughout. There is a lot of sex scenes peppered through out the book but they aren't terribly graphic, but they are also not really appropriate for under sixteen either. Fielding did a great job with this story it has a little bit for everyone action/adventure, love/deceit and a desperate game of cat and mouse that will keep readers turning the pages.
I gave this book a 3.5 out of 5 star rating
I was gifted a reviewers copy in exchange for an honest review by the author.

Kathy :I love to read. I learned to read at a really early age and was never without something to read growing up. Reading is a cheap easy vacation, when you can become so engrossed in what you are reading that you can see, smell, hear and taste everything in your minds eye. I'm just a ordinary girl living life one page at a time.
