Lose Weight With A Smile by S.R. Shuja is a self help, weigh loss guide, through which the author shares some of the strategies he has used himself to loose weight and keep it off. The author includesmany charts and appendix's that help the reader visualize, and use the tools offered in this book to help them on their weight loss journey. While the author does mention the Atkins diet, there is no mention of any of the other popular weight loss methods/diets in which to compare against. This would be similar to Dr Phil with all the lists and strategies you could employ to stay successful.
I really enjoyed how the author broke it done, very simply write it down, make lists, prioritize, self analysis, take a look at what is working for you and what is not. If you fall back into old habits, reset and move forward instead of falling into self loathing, and giving up on your goals. Weigh loss is a journey, you are going to do it at your own pace and there is no one approach that will work for everyone.
There are a lot of errors in sentence structure or words used in the wrong way through out this book IE pg 53 two loaves of bread, should read two pieces of bread, while spell check can fix many spelling errors better editing could have been done to make the sentence structure flow better through out this book.. While I did like the aspect of listing what was working and what was not, there is no real structure to the program and I felt that there was a lot of double talk. The only other diet plan mentioned in this book is the Atkins diet, and while no one program works for one person, other programs could have been mentioned just as a comparison to show the positives and negative of each program.
I wasn't really sure what to think of this book, I kind of like my weight loss program to be a mix of normal everyday Joe ( I don't need celebrity endorsements) but backed up with a PH D or something that shows that you know what your talking about, and are trained to give advise in that area. From what I could see in the acknowledgments there is no mention of being an expert of any kind in that field, this is just a basics of how one man found success, and the strategies he has used over the years to lose weight and sustain it.
I gave this book a 2.5 star rating as a result
